Furniture

At Profreight, we understand that furniture cannot be treated like general goods, but must instead be handled with care and well secured to ensure safety during transit. We can facilitate the transport of any household furniture, including mattresses, sofas and cabinetry.

It is with this in mind that we take the following measures to protect your property:

Your goods are blanket-wrapped upon collection to offer protection

The furniture is then secured to side rails in our specially-designed vehicles. Ratchet straps and other securing mechanisms which could mark or damage your property are strictly prohibited

  • logo

Our specialist demountable vehicles can be hydraulically lowered to the ground, so that your furniture can simply be walked into the truck without the need for forklifts or pump trucks, avoiding all associated loading risks

  • logo

All vehicles have a rubber floor, giving your furniture a relatively soft but robust and flexible surface on which to sit during transit

  • logo

Profreight vehicles meet both mainland and Channel Island specifications, so we can provide a true door-to-door service, with no trans-shipping of goods (minimising the risk of damage during transit)

  • logo

We will not mix your furniture with other types of general freight

  • logo

We offer a two-man collection and delivery service, should you require some additional help with vehicle loading/unloading.

Profreight can offer advice and guidance on how to claim back VAT on purchases via the Proof of Shipment Documentation

All domestic services are offered for both deliveries from the mainland to the Channel Islands, and vice versa (e.g. north and south bound). Service levels provided include next day delivery, specific day or economy delivery and weekend/evening/out of hours’ delivery. In short, we will collect and deliver your property as, when and where required to meet your exact needs.
